# Introduction

### What is Sigma?

Sigma is a compliance and fraud intelligence platform built for financial institutions. It gives you the tools to detect payment fraud, screen customers and counterparties, conduct ongoing due diligence, and meet your regulatory reporting obligations, all from one platform.

Sigma is designed to integrate directly into your existing systems via API. You send us transaction data and customer information; we return decisions, risk assessments, and compliance records in real time.
